(Tuesday, September 9, 1975) — Former Beatle Paul McCartney and his band Wings (consisting of his wife Linda, Denny Laine, Jimmy McCulloch and Joe English, together with a brass section led by Howie Casey) began a world tour tonight at the Gaumont theatre in Southampton, England.

The Wings Over the World tour would continue through Oct. 21, 1976, and eventually include 66 shows in North America, Europe and Australia.
