George Harrison begins recording seventh studio album 40 years ago today (May 24 1976)

(Monday, May 24, 1976) — Former Beatle George Harrison began recording his seventh studio album Thirty Three & 1/3 today at his Friar Park home studio in Henley-on-Thames, England.

The four-month sessions produce the following songs: ‘This Song’, ‘Learning How To Love You’, ‘Woman Don’t You Cry For Me’, ‘Dear One’, ‘Beautiful Girl’, ‘See Yourself’, ‘It’s What You Value’, ‘True Love’, ‘Pure Smokey’ and ‘Crackerbox Palace’, which was the name of Lord Buckley’s house in Los Angeles.

The sessions on the album will continue through Sept. 13, 1976.
