(Thursday, December 8, 1966, 7:00 p.m.-3:40 a.m. GMT) — The Beatles began recording another version of “Strawberry Fields Forever” tonight at EMI Studio 2 in London for a brass and strings score written by producer George Martin.

Earlier in the day (in a session that took place from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.), Paul McCartney overdubbed lead vocals onto “When I’m Sixty-Four” with none of the other Beatles present.
