(Tuesday, September 5, 1967, 7:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m. BST) — The Beatles held their first recording session since the death of their manager Brian Epstein on Aug. 27, 1967, today at EMI Studio 1 in London, recording the first 16 takes of John Lennon’s surrealist masterpiece “I Am The Walrus” for their next television film and record project.
