(Sunday, September 11, 1977, 9:00-11:00 p.m. EDT)Roots, the most watched show in television history, dominated the 29th Primetime Emmy Awards tonight, winning six awards, including Outstanding Limited Series.

Sybil took home three Emmys, including Outstanding Special – Drama or Comedy.

Mary Tyler Moore won Outstanding Comedy Series and Upstairs, Downstairs won Outstanding Drama Series.

This year’s ceremonies were held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California, and hosted by Angie Dickinson and Robert Blake.
