(Friday, January 14, 1972, afternoon EST) — Former Beatle John Lennon and his wife, Yoko Ono, taped the first of five programs as co-hosts today on the prestigious Emmy award-winning WBC (Westinghouse Broadcasting Corporation) afternoon talk show The Mike Douglas Show at KYW-TV, 1619 Walnut Street in Philadelphia.

On today’s show (for airing on Feb. 14, 1972) John & Yoko (with The Plastic Ono Band and the New York group Elephant’s Memory) performed “It’s So Hard.” Yoko also began the reconstruction of a broken china cup.

Guests on this first show included comedian Louis Nye, attorney Ralph Nader and The Chamber Brothers.

The couple would tape their second of five shows as co-hosts on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 1972.
