(Thursday, October 5, 1961)Breakfast at Tiffany’s, a romantic comedy film starring Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard, opened today at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

The film, directed by Blake Edwards, is loosely based on the novella of the same name by Truman Capote.

(Friday, October 3, 1941) — Aviator Charles A. Lindbergh tonight told a rally in Fort Wayne, Indiana, sponsored by the America First Committee that U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt was leading the United States along a road which, “not many steps ahead,” might involve the suspension of the Congressional elections in 1942.
