(Thursday, January 10, 1952) — The Greatest Show on Earth, a drama film set in the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, premiered today in New York City.

Directed by Cecil B. DeMille, the film stars Betty Hutton, Cornel Wilde, Charlton Heston, James Stewart, Dorothy Lamour and Gloria Grahame.

It would go on to win Best Picture at the 25th Academy Awards.
