Lennon, Carnes take top Grammy awards 30 years ago tonight (1982)

(Wednesday, February 24, 1982, 9:00 p.m. EST)Double Fantasy, the album by the late John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono, and Bette Davis Eyes, Kim Carnes’ scratchy voiced single, won top honors tonight at the 24th Grammy Awards at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
