(Thursday, May 23, 2003) — Mystic River, a drama film about three men with a childhood tragedy that overshadowed their lives who are reunited by circumstance when one loses a daughter, premiered today at the Cannes Film Festival.
Directed by Clint Eastwood, the film stars Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, Kevin Bacon, Laurence Fishburne, Marcia Gay Harden and Laura Linney.
Children from St. Petersburg boarding school No. 38 participated in the studio opening, which is located in the former stables of the Menshikov palace on Vasilyevsky Island. They sang songs by the former member of the legendary group Beatles.
The studio was opened with support from the charity fund The Menshikov Foundation.
According to the fund’s director Enti Ino, the fund was created to support musically gifted children, and the modern sound studio will become a stage for the exercises of these children.
