Video: '1904 Olympics History Day Project'
(Friday, July 1, 1904) — The 1904 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the III Olympiad, opened today in St. Louis, Missouri, with 651 athletes participating.
Competition would continue through November 23, 1904 (the bulk of events occurring between Monday, August 29 to Saturday, September 3).
It was the first time that the Olympic Games were held in a majority English language nation, and the first time that they were held outside of Europe.
