Murray Abraham for Best Actor.
Sally Field won Best Actress for Places in the Heart. The ceremonies were held at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles, with Jack Lemmon serving as host (his fourth and final appearance as host or co-host; 1958-1985).
