(Monday, March 27, 1995, 6:00 p.m. PST) — Forrest Gump, an epic romantic-comedy-drama film about a mentally challenged man who stumbles through formative events in U.S. history, won six Oscars tonight at the 67th Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Robert Zemeckis for Best Director and Tom Hanks for Best Actor.
Jessica Lange won Best Actress for Blue Sky.
The ceremonies were held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, with David Letterman serving as host (his first and only time as host).
