‘Apollo 13’ premieres in Beverly Hills 20 years ago today (June 22 1995)

(Thursday, June 22, 1995)Apollo 13, a historical docudrama film about the tense days of the Apollo 13 lunar mission crisis in 1970, premiered today at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hills, California.

Directed by Ron Howard, the film starred Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, Bill Paxton, Gary Sinise and Ed Harris.
