(Saturday, July 10, 1965)“(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” by The Rolling Stones peaked at #1 on today’s Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for four consecutive weeks (July 10/17/24/31, 1965).

It was the group’s first of eight number one hits on the chart (1965-1978).

In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine placed “Satisfaction” in the second spot on its list of “The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.”
