(Monday, November 8, 1965, 2:00 p.m. EST) — Days of Our Lives, a daytime television soap opera that chronicled of the lives, loves, trials and tribulations of the citizens of the fictional city of Salem, debuted this afternoon on NBC, the first broadcast in color.

In January 2014, the show was renewed through September 2016.
