Video: 'Carrie' trailer

(Tuesday, November 16, 1976) — Carrie, an American supernatural horror film based on Stephen King’s 1974 epistolary novel of the same name about a young teenage girl who wreaks telekinetic vengeance on her high school tormentors and religious-nut mother, opened today at the Criterion and other theaters in the New York City metro area.

Directed by Brian De Palma, the film starred Sissy Spacek, John Travolta and Piper Laurie.
