Video: 'The Family Way Original Movie Soundtrack - Paul McCartney (1967)'

(Friday, Janaury 6, 1967) — The Family Way, a soundtrack recording composed by Paul McCartney of The Beatles and performed by The George Martin Orchestra (Martin was The Beatles’ producer at the time) for the 1966 film of the same name, was released today in the UK (June 12, 1967 in the U.S.).

Although The Family Way was released in January 1967, most commentators consider George Harrison’s Wonderwall Music (released Nov. 1, 1968), also a film soundtrack, to be the first solo album by a member of the Beatles because unlike with McCartney’s film score, Harrison directed and produced the recordings for Wonderwall Music, in addition to playing on some of the album.
