Video: 'The Beatles - Penny Lane'

(Monday, February 13, 1967) — The double A-sided single “Penny Lane”/“Strawberry Fields Forever” by The Beatles (both were about locations in the band’s hometown of Liverpool, England) was released today in the U.S. (Feb. 17, 1967, in the UK) by Capitol Records.

In 2004, “Strawberry Fields Forever” was ranked number 76 and “Penny Lane” placed at 456 on Rolling Stone‘s list of “The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.”
