Supreme Court upholds constitutionality of eight-hour law 100 years ago #OnThisDay #OTD (Mar 19 1917)

(Monday, March 19, 1917) — A divided U.S. Supreme Court, in Wilson v. New, today upheld 5-4 the constitutionality of the Adamson Act, which provided for an eight-hour work day for interstate railroad workers.
