(Sunday, June 4, 1967) — The Jimi Hendrix Experience opened their show tonight at London’s Saville Theatre with “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” the title song of The Beatles’ legendary album released just three days before, with two of the band’s members, Paul McCartney and George Harrison, in attendance, much to their astonishment and delight.
