(Tuesday, September 5, 1967, 10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT) — The Prisoner, a British television series that combines spy fiction with elements of science fiction, allegory and psychological drama, premiered tonight CTV in Canada.

Co-created and starring Patrick McGoohan, the 17-episode series would debut in the UK on Sept. 29, 1967, and in the U.S. on June 1, 1968.
