(Tuesday, September 8, 1987, 11:30 p.m. EDT) — In his first television interview since quitting the 1988 presidential contest, Senator Gary Hart of Colorado admitted tonight during an interview on ABC’s Nightline that he had committed adultery, and said he had no plans to resume his White House bid.
Hart ended his candidacy in May 1987 following news reports that he had spent a weekend with Donna Rice, a 29-year-old actress and model.
