(Tuesday, November 7, 1967, 8:20 a.m. CST) — John Nance Garner, the 32nd Vice President of the United States from 1933 to 1941, during the administration of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, died today of a heart attack at his home in Ulvade, Texas.

Garner was 98, making him, as of 2017, the longest-lived vice president or president in U.S. history.
