Video: '"Patient Zero" Randy Shilts Interview, 1987 - HIV AIDS'

(Sunday, November 15, 1987, 7:00-8:00 p.m. EST) — Gaëtan Dugas, a Canadian flight attendant, was profiled tonight on the CBS newsmagazine television program 60 Minutes as “patient zero” for AIDS epidemic in the United States.

Dugas’ case was later found to have been only one of many that began in the 1970s, according to a September 2016 study published in Nature.
