Video: 'RMS Queen Mary Arrives in Long Beach 1967'

(Saturday, December 9, 1967, 8:47 a.m. PST) — The RMS Queen Mary arrived at Long Beach, California, this morning after a final voyage that had started from Southampton in England on Oct. 31, 1967, and which had taken it around Cape Horn.

The ship would be formally presented to the city of Long Beach two days later and would become a tourist attraction in 1971.
