(Saturday, January 16, 1988) —Jimmy “The Greek” Snyder was dismissed by CBS Sports today, one day after the veteran commentator made derogatory racial comments about athletes.

Snyder, a 12-year regular on CBS’s The NFL Today show who specialized in predictions designed to aid bettors, told a reporter for WRC-TV in Washington, D.C. yesterday that blacks were better athletes than whites because they were “bred to be that way” since the days of slavery.
