(Sunday, February 11, 1968, 4:00 p.m.-2:00 a.m. GMT) — The Beatles recorded John Lennon’s song “Hey Bulldog” during a session tonight at EMI Studio 3, recording ten takes and several instrumental and vocal overdubs.
The Beatles were filmed during the session by NEMS employee Tony Bramwell for a promotional clip for “Lady Madonna,” the band’s next single (the promo video would debut on Britain’s Top Of The Pops TV show on Mar. 14, 1968).
It was to be their final recording session before departing for India to study meditation with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. The Beatles would not return to the studio until May 30, 1968, to begin sessions for what would become known as “The White Album.”
