(Sunday, February 18, 1968) — Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr of The Beatles, plus McCartney’s girlfriend, Jane Asher, and Starr’s wife, Maureen, departed London Airport today, bound for Delhi, India, where two other members of the group, John Lennon and George Harrison (and their wives) had arrived three days earlier.

The Indian excursion was to study Transcendental Meditation with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi at his ashram in Rishikesh.
