(Sunday, February 24, 2007, 5:30-9:00 p.m. PST) — No Country for Old Men, Joel and Ethan Coen’s chilling confrontation of a desperate man with a relentless killer, won Best Picture tonight at the 80th Academy Awards at Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.
No Country for Old Men also won the award for Best Director (Joel and Ethan Coen), Best Supporting Actor (Javier Bardem) and Best Adapted Screenplay (Joel and Ethan Coen based on the novel by Cormac McCarthy).
Daniel Day-Lewis won Best Actor for There Will Be Blood, Marion Cotillard won Best Actress for La Vie en Rose and Tilda Swinton won Best Supporting Actress for Michael Clayton.
