(Saturday, May 13, 1978) — “With a Little Luck” by (former Beatle Paul McCartney and his band) Wings peaked at #1 on today’s Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for two consecutive weeks (May 20/27, 1978).
It was McCartney’s sixth of nine number one hits on the chart (1971-1983), all after The Beatles hit the number one spot a record 20 times between 1964 and 1970.
“With a Little Luck” also broke a 15-week run of four number one songs that were either performed by the Bees Gees or written by Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees.
