(Saturday, June 29, 1968, 6:00 p.m PDT) — Elvis Presley performed the first of two stand-up live mini-concerts for his television special Singer Presents…ELVIS (commonly referred to as the 68 Comeback Special) tonight at NBC Studios in Burbank, California, for airing on Dec. 3, 1968.

Elvis, who performed two sit-down mini-concerts for the special two days ago on June 27, 1968, did a second stand-up “mini-concert” tonight at 8:00 p.m. PDT.

The special marked Presley’s return to live performance after seven years during which his career was centered in the movie business.
