Video: 'Paul McCartney Radio Luxembourg 1968'

(Wednesday, November 20, 1968) — Paul McCartney was interviewed today at his home in London by Tony Macurthur for Radio Luxembourg, asked about The Beatles, the ninth studio album by the English rock band The Beatles, to be released Nov. 22, 1968,in the UK (Nov. 25, 1968, in the U.S.).

Better known as “The White Album,” the double-LP featured a plain white sleeve with no graphics or text other than the band’s name embossed in what appeared to be in direct contrast to the vivid cover artwork of the band’s previous LP Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

The McCartney interview would air on Radio Luxembourg  on Nov. 21, 1968, during a two-hour special on the new album.
