(Tuesday, September 2, 1969) — The first automatic teller machine to utilize magnetic-striped cards, developed by Donald C. Wetzel and called the “Docuteller,” was opened to the public today at a Chemical Bank branch at 10 North Village Avenue in Rockville Centre, New York.
