(Friday, October 13, 1989, noon EDT) — Crimes and Misdemeanors, an American existential comedy-drama film about an ophthalmologist whose mistress threatens to reveal their affair to his wife while a married documentary filmmaker is infatuated with another woman, opened today at three theaters in Manhattan, including Loews Tower East, Loews 34th Street Showplace and Loews 84th Street Six.

Written and directed by Woody Allen, the film starred Caroline Aaron, Alan Alda, Allen, Claire Bloom, Mia Farrow, Joanna Gleason, Anjelica Huston, Martin Landau, Jenny Nichols, Jerry Orbach and Sam Waterston.
