(Saturday, November 1, 1969) — Abbey Road, the eleventh studio album by English rock band The Beatles, the last in which all four members participated, peaked at #1 on today’s Billboard Top LP’s chart for 11 non-consecutive weeks (Nov. 1/8/15/22/29, Dec. 6/13/20, 1969, Jan. 3/10/24, 1970).

Let It Be was the final studio album that the Beatles completed and released before the band’s dissolution in April 1970, but most of the album had been recorded before the Abbey Road sessions began.

Abbey Road was the band’s 13th of a record 19 albums that went to number one on the chart (1964-2000).
