Video: 'The Beatles - Something'

(Wednesday, November 5, 1969) — John Lennon of The Beatles and his wife, Yoko Ono, were separately filmed today at their Tittenhurst Park estate near Ascot, England, for their contribution in the band’s promotional film for the recently released “Something” single.

The promotional clip for “Something” was shot in late October/early November 1969, not long after Lennon had privately announced that he was leaving the band.

By this time, the individual Beatles had drawn apart and so the film consisted of separate clips of each Beatle walking around his home, accompanied by his wife, edited together.

Today’s filming turned out to be Lennon’s final visually artistic contribution to The Beatles.

The video premiered on Top of the Pops, a British music chart television program, on Nov. 13, 1969.
