(Monday, November 10, 1969) — Jim Morrison, lead singer of The Doors rock group, pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Dade Criminal Court today on a host of charges stemming from a wild performance at Dinner Key Auditorium in Miami on Mar. 1, 1969.

Morrison, known as “king of the orgasmic rock,” was charged with lewd and lascivious behavior, indecent exposure, open profanity and drunkenness.

The 25-year-old singer, who flew in from Los Angeles to appear today, was released on $5000 bail in order to appear for trial Apr. 27, 1970.
