(Wednesday, December 3, 1969) — John Lennon of The Beatles and his wife, Yoko Ono, were filmed today for the BBC1 documentary 24 Hours: The World of John and Yoko, presented Dec. 15 1969, at 10:30 p.m. by David Dimbleby.

Lennon and Ono are at first filmed in bed opening their mail, with Ono also knitting Lennon a late birthday present for her husband.

Lennon reads out a negative letter about his return of his MBE to the Queen, and a news item about a Welsh man who had been falsely booking hotel rooms in Lennon’s name. He also reads an article about someone who claims to have contacted Brian Epstein using a ouija board, who predicted an assassination attempt on Lennon on Mar. 6.

Lennon and Ono were also filmed sitting near a picture window. In the footage Lennon plays a Mellotron while wearing a fake rubber nose.

The latter part of the day’s filming involved the Lennons’ journey to the Apple offices in London. They are shown discussing various topics with their assistant Anthony Fawcett, including plans for their forthcoming War Is Over campaign.

The arrival at Apple was filmed, as was a BBC radio producer’s attempt to interview them as they left the building to travel to a friend’s house.
