(Sunday, January 11, 1970, 8:00-9:00 p.m. EST) — The Ike and Tina Turner Revue performed “Proud Mary” on tonight’s episode on the CBS-TV variety series The Ed Sullivan Show live from the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City.

They also performed “Bold Soul Sister.”

Flip Wilson also did stand-up comedy, talking about his preacher, Reverend Leroy and the preacher’s wife (who, after shopping, tells her husband, “The Devil made me buy this dress”).
