Video: 'Woman Who Helped Hide Anne Frank Dies'
(Monday, January 11, 2010, evening Central European Time) — Miep Gies, the Dutch office secretary who defied Nazi occupiers to hide Anne Frank and her family for two years and saved the teenager’s diary, died tonight in Hoorn, The Netherlands. She was 100.
The BBC said Gies suffered a fall in late Dec. 2009 and died at a nursing home.
