(Wednesday, February 11, 1970, 7:30-10:00 p.m. BST) — John Lennon of The Beatles and his wife, Yoko Ono, performed Lennon’s new single “Instant Karma” tonight on BBC1’s Top of the Pops in Studio 8 at the BBC’s Television Centre in London for broadcast the following day.

Lennon played upright piano and sang a live vocal on four takes, while Alan White and Klaus Voorman mimed their original roles to a mono mix of the song created the day before.
