Video: 'Gladiator' trailer

(Monday, May 1, 2000, 7:30 p.m. PDT) — Gladiator, an epic historical drama action film about a former Roman General who sets out to exact vengeance against the corrupt emperor who murdered his family and sent him into slavery, premiered tonight at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hills, California.

Directed by Ridley Scott, the film starred Russell Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix, Connie Nielsen, Oliver Reed, Derek Jacobi, Djimon Hounsou and Richard Harris.
