(Wednesday, July 1, 1970; during sessions for All Things Must Pass) — George Harrison today began recording “Run Of The Mill,” a remake of “Art of Dying,” “Down to the River” and a version of The Beatles’ “Get Back,” plus the jams “Thanks for the Pepperoni” and “I Remember Jeep,” for the triple-disc album All Things Must Pass, his first release as a solo artist following the break-up of The Beatles, today at EMI Studio 3 in London.

Take 61 of “Run Of The Mill” and take 26 of “Art of Dying” was treated with overdubs during additional sessions for the album, which continued through October 1970.

“Down To The River” remained unused until he reworked it as “Rocking Chair in Hawaii” for his final studio album, the posthumously released Brainwashed (2002).
