(Tuesday, August 12, 1980; during sessions for Double Fantasy and Milk And Honey) — Former Beatle John Lennon, who returned to the recording studio last week after a five-year absence for what would turn out to be his final studio albums, Double Fantasy and Milk And Honey (both with his wife, Yoko Ono), tracked “I’m Losing You” with Cheap Trick’s guitarist Rick Nielsen and drummer Bun E. Carlos backing Lennon today in New York City.

The track would be remade without the Cheap Trick musicians backing him starting Aug. 18, 1980. The Cheap Trick version was released in 1998.
