(Sunday, September 20, 1970, approximately noon EDT) — A six-man jury in Miami found Jim Morrison, lead singer of the rock musical group The Doors, guilty today on two misdemeanor charges for his behavior at a concert at the Dinner Key auditorium in Miami on Mar. 1, 1969.

The 26-year-old musician was found guilty of indecent exposure and using vulgar and indecent language in public but not guilty of lewd and lascivious conduct, a felony, and public drunkenness, a misdemeanor.

Witnesses testified during the 15-day trial that the musician had exposed himself to the audience during the performance.

Morrison was escorted to the Dade County Jail by local officers. He was later released on a $50,000 bond and sentencing was scheduled for Oct. 23, 1970 (then delayed to Oct. 30, 1970).
