(Wednesday, September 24, 1980; during sessions for Double Fantasy and Milk And Honey) — Former Beatle John Lennon, who returned to the recording studio Aug. 7, 1980, after a five-year absence for what would turn out to be his final studio albums, Double Fantasy and Milk And Honey (both with his wife, Yoko Ono), concluded an in-depth interview (with Ono) today by David Sheff for the January 1981 edition of Playboy magazine.

A 42-minute extract taken from the 30 hours of taping for the Playboy interview, which began Sept. 11, 1980, was released on the Dec. 5, 1983, album Heart Play – unfinished dialogue.
