Video: 'Gimme Shelter' trailer

(Sunday, December 6, 1970, scheduled to open at 12 noon EST) — Gimme Shelter, a British-American documentary film chronicling the last weeks of The Rolling Stones’ 1969 U.S. tour which culminated in the disastrous Altamont Free Concert, opened today at the Plaza Theater at 42 E. 58th Street in New York City.

Directed by Albert and David Maysles and Charlotte Zwerin, the film also included appearances by Ike and Tina Turner, Jefferson Airplane and the Flying Burrito Brothers.
