(Wednesday, April 28, 1971, scheduled for noon EDT) — Bananas, a comedy film directed by Woody Allen about a neurotic New Yorker who follows the object of his affections to the fictional Central American country of San Marcos, where she is involved in a revolution, opened today at The Coronet in New York City.

The film starred Allen, Louise Lasser, Howard Cosell, Carlos Montalban and Natividad Abascal.
