(Wednesday, July 21, 1971) — Filming of the promotional video for John Lennon’s “Imagine” song was completed today at his Tittenhurst Park estate near Ascot, England.

The classic footage shows Lennon performing the song at his white grand piano with his wife, Yoko Ono, opening up the shutters of the windows before sitting down next to him at the piano.

The first part of the video, showing John & Yoko walking up the driveway in the fog before disappearing at the front door, was filmed on Sunday, July 18, 1971.

The song would be released Sept. 7, 1971, as part of Lennon’s Imagine album, and then released as a single in the U.S. on Oct. 11, 1971.
